Lee Sollory is established as a leading composer of music for classical guitar, a highly accomplished performer and 'one of the most respected and sought after guitar teachers in the U.K.' . He studied guitar and composition with Oliver Hunt and Gilbert Biberian and gave his London debut at the Queen Elizabeth Hall London in 1984.
His concert works include the six Guitar Trios, the Sonata for Guitar and The Odyssey - Concerto for Guitar and orchestra. His music is published by Camden Music, Faber Music, Trinity-Guildhall, Boosey & Hawkes and Navarin Edition. He has received performances throughout the U.K. the United States of America, Canada, Japan, France and Turkey. As a performer Lee has appeared as a soloist, with the London Guitar Trio and with the flautist Kate Grace. Lee enjoys a busy and varied schedule teaching at Trinity College of Music in the Junior Department , Directing the Hertfordshire Classical Guitar Ensemble [C.C.G.E.], Festival adjudication and examining for Trinity-Guildhall.Lee has composed a large body of works for the student guitarist and has several titles included in the Trinity-Guildhall guitar syllabus from Initial to Grade 8. Current educational titles include the Estudines, Etudes, All Together Now ensemble series, Sound at Sight for Guitar and the ever popular Real Guitar Books 1&2, a joint project with Nick Powlesland.
